Veneers

At Monfredi Family Dental in Galloway, Ohio, we’re excited to bring your dream smile to reality with dental veneers. Veneers are a thin covering made of porcelain that is adhered to your tooth to remedy common cosmetic issues like tooth discoloration or chipped teeth. The veneer becomes a permanent part of your teeth once the bonding process is complete.

What is the process?

First, Dr. Monfredi will slightly roughen the surface of each tooth that is getting a veneer so the veneer will fit and adhere properly. Then, Dr. Monfredi will take an imprint of your teeth, and send that off to the lab where your veneers will be made. Once she receives your veneers from the lab, she will begin the process of bonding them to your teeth. Dr. Monfredi will check the fit and color match, and will make any adjustments necessary, ensuring you are pleased before moving to the next step. Next, your tooth will be cleaned, polished and etched, which roughens the surface of the tooth. This will create a stronger bond between your tooth and the veneer. A special cement will be applied to your tooth and the veneer will be placed. A specific light is used to activate the cement to ensure the veneer is securely attached to your tooth. Once hardening is complete, Dr. Monfredi will evaluate the fit of the veneer and your bite, making any further adjustments necessary.
